Industries aiming for future success must develop their business models and value creation along sustainable pathways. Researchers from the fields of engineering, computer science, and management are supporting this transformation process, pooling their research activities in the areas of industry, materials, mobility, digital value creation and energy.

They unlock digital potential and thereby promote innovative and efficient networking of stakeholders and processes in business and science as well as in the public sector. They research innovative process technologies and innovative materials, thereby contributing to resource efficiency and promoting the circular economy. To this end, our researchers are working with other disciplines to develop innovative solutions for smart Industry 4.0, robotics, communication technology, renewable energies and propulsion technologies.

We believe in integrative and responsible research

The basis for sustainable business models is integration in digital value chains: Data analysis, digital twins and artificial intelligence help to optimize processes in terms of autonomy, energy efficiency and resource input. Following this integrative approach, our researchers develop significant contributions to overcoming local and global ecological, social and economic challenges and thus establish pioneering practices for sustainable and responsible science.
