Being a guest student at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences
Would you like to study but do not yet have a university entrance qualification?
If you are missing just one detail for admission, you can still take up to two courses with us. You will then be a guest student.
If you already have your university entrance qualification, you can simply apply to the university.
Which courses can I attend?
The following applies to guest students:
You can take up to two courses and the exams.
We will check if there is space in the courses.
If you pass the exam, you will receive a certificate that can later be recognized for your studies.
Our degree programs are listed here.
Requirements and fees
In order to participate in our program, you must have applied for asylum. However, the application does not have to have been approved yet
If you have proof that a fee represents a particular hardship, you do not have to pay a fee. This applies to refugees, for example.
If you do not have such proof and would still like to participate in the program, please contact arnaud.fischer@hs-osnabrueck.de
Procedure at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences
Step 1: Clearing interview with the Center for International Students (CIS) or the Central Student Advisory Service
Interview about German and English language skills. Bring your educational certificates with you. We will then discuss the best way for you to begin your studies.
The Central Student Advisory Service will provide you with additional advice if you do not yet know which degree program suits your interests.
Step 2: Take the German placement test
If you do not yet speak German well, we can offer you courses. You will need to take a placement test. We offer a placement test on two dates for all those who have registered for the guest student program. These dates will be announced to the guest students who have already registered.
Step 3: Specialist advice in the right faculty
Discuss which courses you can take part in with the faculty that is right for you. At Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, courses from different semesters and from many degree programs are open to you.
Please note: If your German language skills are still below level B1, you will certainly not be able to follow the courses. In this case, we recommend that you only attend one German course as part of the guest student program..
