Structure of the program

The Business Information Systems Bachelor’s degree program at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences is comprised of six semesters and is a program with a combination of Computer Science and Business Administration.

Modules in the first study stage

In the first two semesters, students build up basic knowledge. This includes, for one, the knowledge from Computer Science, for example IT-based Technologies, Databases or Object Oriented Programming. On the other hand, students learn basic knowledge of Business Administration in modules such as, for example, the basics of Business Administration, Methods in Studies and Practical Work, Mathematics, Statistics, Logistics or Controlling.

Modules in the second study stage

The second study stage serves to help students deepen, reinforce and apply the learned study contents. Depending on your interests, compulsory elective modules from the following offerings are available:

  • IT Logistics
    These include the subjects Geo Information Systems, Information Logistics and Knowledge Management.
     
  • Controlling
    These include SAP – Business Warehouse, Reporting Tools and ERP-ABAP4 Programming.
     
  • Quantitative Methods
    This deals with subjects such as Statistics Software, Business Modeling, Optimization and E-entrepreneurship and Information Systems in Healthcare.

Students get insights into the later professional life beginning in the third semester in which they apply the learned knowledge in practice-oriented IT projects.
