| Center for International Students (CIS) | The Center for International Students (CIS) is dedicated to serving the degree-seeking international students of Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. They offer advising and support around:

| International Faculty Office (IFO) | The International Faculty Office supports all international students at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Landscape Architecture (AuL), as well as local students who want to gain international experience. They organize events and programs, including faculty-level meet-ups and the buddy program, as well as advising students, especially about study abroad options. Learn more about the IFO AuL here. |
The Housing Service of Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences offers housing in furnished rooms for international students who do not yet speak much German. These rooms are in the student dormitories of the Studentenwerk Osnabrück, which operates more than 20 student dorms throughout Osnabrück.
The Housing Service rooms vary in price depending on their size and the location and amenities of the dormitory. On average, rooms cost 210 to 400 Euros per month, and dorms closer to city center are generally more expensive. The dorms generally offer internet access and access to laundry facilities (operated with coins or your student ID / ‘campus card’).

The Buddy Program at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Landscape Architecture (AuL) matches first-year students with experienced AuL students, who can pass on their know-how and ease the transition to studying at university.
The buddies of international students are often more advanced international degree-seeking students or students who have studied abroad themselves. They support their international buddies by:
- meeting them when they first arrive in Osnabrück,
- helping them settle into their accommodations
- helping them open a local bank account
- helping them find their way around the city and the university
- answering any practical or cultural questions that arise.
In addition to the one-to-one buddy connection, the AuL buddy program organizes group meet-ups for international students and their buddies at the start, middle and end of every semester. Contact the International Faculty Office AuL to learn more.
In addition to the AuL Buddy Program, the Center for International Students (CIS) helps new international students connect to one another through their Meet-Up-Café for International Students and to local families through their Friend-Family Program. Contact CIS directly to learn more.
Even though there is no German proficiency requirement for the Master's program Land Use Transformation, knowing some German is helpful when it comes to navigating everyday life at the university and in the city. German language skills are also very important when seeking employment in Germany.
The University of Applied Sciences offers different German language learning options:
- Intensive German Courses - The International Summer and Winter Language Schools at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences are intensive language courses, which include a cultural orientation program. They offer international students a chance to get oriented to life in Osnabrück and Germany and to meet new friends directly before the start of each semester.
- Semester-long German Courses - The Center for International Students organizes German courses for international students each semester. Visit their website or contact Beate Buczkowski to learn more.

| The LearningCenter | Through individual advising, training and the provision of materials and digital tools, the LearningCenter helps student develop the skills they need to succeed in their studies and their career. International Students can benefit from study counseling sessions, focused on specific support needs, such as organizing and motivating oneself to study successfully, improving scientific writing and presentations, communicating and working better with others, among others. The experienced colleagues from the LearningCenter offer study counselling directly on our campus. |
| AStA (Referat Internationales) | AStA stand for the Allgemeiner Studierendenausschuss, or General Students' Committee. They are students who work on a voluntary basis to further student interests at the university, for example by representing the students in university government and organizing events on campus. The AStA advises individual students about a wide range of topics related to student life and connects students to free and low-cost resources, such as free legal counseling. The AStA also offers a copy service and rents out tools, technical and sport equipment. | Counselling Center | Studying far from home can be very difficult, and at least one in four students experiences serious mental health problems at university. From exam anxiety to loneliness, financial, family or relationship stress, anxieties about the future, general feelings of sadness, anxiety, self-doubt or disorientation, or even alcohol, drug or other dependencies: The Counselling Center of the Studierendewerk Osnabrück offers free phsychological and social counseling to help students find their way through difficulties. |
