International visiting students are cordially welcomed to our faculty!
In the flyer "Join us!" we have briefly summarized offers for you. The International Faculty Office, the contact professors, your personal buddy and of course your fellow students will support you. We hope that your exchange semester in Germany is a personal and professional success for you.
Elisavet from Greece: "I find Osnabrück a nice and beautiful town with both modern and traditional elements. The students I met were friendly and helpful and I also had the chance to meet other exchange students, to communicate with them and to get to know their background. It was a great opportunity for me to be a guest student at the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science and I would strongly recommend it to other people.“
Binbin from China: "It was my first experience in foreign education here in Osnabrück. I decided to study for a semester at Osnabrück UAS, because my professors praised its modern labs and interesting projects for students. I also wanted to improve my German skills, because they might be very helpful for my future job. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of studying here and made friends with other countries‘ students. I also enjoyed living in Osnabrück – the city is very safe and not too big. This was a wonderful half-year in Germany! I warmly recommend Osnabrück UAS to other international students. And I am going to continue learning German at home in China."
Pavel from Russia: "It was my second time at the Osnabrück UAS – I visited this university during an excursion one year before studying here. Although there are differences between German and Russian education systems, I felt good here. All the people were very friendly and helpful. It was very interesting to communicate with students and professors, and the study support system OSCA was very useful. I learned many new things in the technical modules, and it was a pleasure to master tasks with practical applications. I took part in many activities for students where you can meet new friends. So we visited Bremen, Berlin, Dresden and Amsterdam with other international students. The quality engineering course was a good opportunity to study not only engineering moduls, but also English and German."
Jasmine from Sweden: "I like the Osnabrück UAS. It was nice to study at a big university outside of Sweden. After classes, I spent my free time with other international students, studying, training, and having fun. Once a week we had dinner together in our flat, and everybody cooked something from his or her home country. I am glad to have found friends from Germany and other countries. Osnabrück is a beautiful city, and it is easy to orientate in. I like German nature and landscape. There are good train connections between cities, and many of them are free for students. The course in Osnabrück was a good opportunity to practice English and to meet students from different cultures. I would recommend it to everyone!"

In Germany, the education at universities is mainly financed by taxpayers. Therefore, the students usually do not have to pay tuition fees.
However, every student is obliged to pay a semester fee (not to be confused with tuition fees). Semester fees not only cover administrative costs (such as enrolment or re-registration fees), but also include a social contribution to the Studentenwerk (local student services organisation) for running the mensas, cafeterias, halls of residence, and advice services. The semester fees also contribute to the official body that represents students at the institution, such as the AStA (student union), and also go towards funding semester tickets for public transport. - Students from partner universities: reduced semester fees The semester fee is approx. 360 euros per semester but the exact amount varies from semester to semester. The part for the administrative fee is 75 euros and that part is waived for visiting students from partner universities who come to Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences on exchange.
- Free movers: payment of full semester fees If you come from a university with which we have not concluded a cooperation agreement, you will be considered as a free mover and have to pay the full semester fee.
