Dutch jazz saxophonist/composer/arranger Marike van Dijk has divided her time working and living between Brooklyn, Amsterdam and Brisbane (Australia) over the past years.

She has recently completed a PhD in composition at the University in Queensland (Australia), released 3 albums as a leader, including 2 albums by her large chamber jazz ensemble The Stereography Project. Her cinematic composition style is reflected in a melodic and harmonic sensitivity that crosses musical genres; she combines elements from jazz, classical and indie rock music. Her most recent release Stranded was commissioned by the North Sea Jazz Festival in 2022. Stranded is set to release on sept 22, 2023
